WhetherWear publishes practical clothing guidance derived from forecast conditions. Safety-sensitive claims are checked against authoritative public guidance, and uncertain or highly personal advice is labeled as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
What the guidance is
WhetherWear uses a deterministic recommendation engine to translate forecast data into clothing, layering, fabric, footwear, and accessory guidance. It is general guidance, not a guarantee of comfort, forecast accuracy, or safety. Personal temperature sensitivity, health, activity, and local conditions can change what is appropriate.
What the engine evaluates
Depending on the product surface and available provider data, rules can evaluate current and forecast temperature, apparent temperature, dew point, humidity, wind, precipitation, UV, time of day, forecast trajectory, selected activity, style, and temperature preference. A missing input should be treated as uncertainty, not presented to the user as an observed zero.
How the system is checked
Automated scenario tests cover heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, humidity, changing conditions, missing data, activities, styles, and temperature preferences. Release checks compare source content with the compiled site, block known unsafe or misleading claims, and verify that crawlable pages match their source data. Tests reduce known failure modes; they do not prove that every forecast or recommendation will be correct for every person.

Blog posts carry publication and modification dates. Substantive changes update the modification date; the full build regenerates related links, structured data, and the sitemap. Corrections keep the canonical URL, and release checks compare source metadata with the crawlable page rather than applying a cosmetic freshness date.
